OKAY HERE WE GO….
PVH - Angie is examining Ryan. She tells him she can’t make any promises but she’s going to go over every test he’s had and if there’s anything they can do…they are interrupted by Jake. Jake tells him that he stopped by and thinks he has something that can help. End scene.
BJ’s - Jesse meets up with Samuel Woods. Jesse says he was surprised to get a call from him given the campaign, etc. Jesse asks him why he is there really. End scene.
INTRO MUZAK
PVH - Angie is not digging Jake’s .02 on Ryan and pretty much tells him so. He’s not your patient she tells him and Jake won’t stop - he keeps pushing her. She tells him this isn’t a war zone and he tosses back the “who knows better than you than a man on the run for years,” wanting her to let it go. She just looks at him and scene ends.
BJ’s - Woods tells Jesse that he’s getting a special award, a commendation of sorts. Jesse doesn’t want it but Woods tells him he deserves way more than that. End scene.
PVH - Jake tells Angie and Ryan about a surgery that could help him. Angie is familiar with it and spews forth info on it which I think takes Jake a bit by surprise, but he doesn’t show it. She says it was used on Alzheimer patients and he says he think it could work. Angie thinks this is very risky and questions Jake on his motives. Is it really for Ryan or for him? End scene.
BJ’s - Jesse torments himself by reliving how guilty he feels over leaving Angie and Frankie, all those years on the run, etc. Woods shares more on losing his wife during 911 and how responsible he feels too for it. Jesse tells him it wasn’t his fault and Woods says he knows that intellectually, but not in his heart. End scene.
BACK @ BJ’s - Jesse tells Woods that he thinks he’s trying to work him. Woods tells him that Jesse needs to work on taking a compliment, he’s not trying to work him. He tells Jesse that he thinks they have a lot in common which kinda throws Jesse for a loop. Woods says that when Frankie got back from Iraq he ran to the woods, didn’t know where he was, etc. The same thing happened with his son Dre after 9/11. Jesse agrees they both have kids that went through hell and Woods brings up the time taken away from Angie and Frankie as similar to the time he has lost with his wife and son. “At the core, we both believe in family. we both believe in trying to do the right thing - stand up for something,” Woods tells him. And that’s the very reason he is running for senate. Jesse tells him he understands as that is what being a cop meant to him and Woods suggest maybe Jesse should go back to what he does best. End scene.
PVH - Ryan tells both Angie and Jake that he wants to remember any way he can and he honestly trusts them both. Jake says this is not about him and all he wants is for Ryan to have all the options instead of wasting time on expensive tests that don’t go anywhere. Clearly Jake has lost his mind the way he’s talking to Angie. Here’s some of their dialogue:
Angie: You’re out of line.
Jake: Oh, really? I was just thinking the same thing about you.
Angie: Uh, would you excuse me, Ryan? I’m sorry, but I need to talk to Jake out in the hall.
Jake: Sure. We’ll be back.
Angie: Look, I’m sorry I snapped, but you’re pumping Ryan full of hope about a highly experimental procedure. We need time to research this before he gives it real consideration.
Jake: What do you mean, “we?” No, you have your way of dealing with patients and I have my way.
Angie: You don’t even work in this hospital.
Jake: I’m sorry — is this a turf war all of a sudden?
Angie: No. I’m just saying —
Jake: Look, I worked at this hospital. In fact, I ran the joint for a while, so I know all about professional courtesy. Don’t ever talk that way to me in front of a patient again. Ever.
Jake leaves and Angie goes back to talk to Ryan. She wants to draw more blood for tests which he agrees to and then asks about Jake’s idea. She tells him that they should look into it and that it could work or kill him. End scene.
BACK AT BJ’S - Jesse tells Woods that he’ll attend any kind of ceremonies he has for photo ops. Woods says he appreciates that and Jesse tells him that he has some serious campaign skills and that he could be the one to beat in 2012. “From your lips to God’s ears, brother,” Woods says. Woods has one more thing to talk to him about and Jesse tells him he’s not interested in working for the government as an investigator or anything else. Woods tells him to hold up and listen, that the Mayor himself had this idea and it will keep Jesse closer to home. Jesse asks what he’s talking about and Woods tells him he’s talking about Jesse’s very own new beginning. End scene.
FINAL SCENES TODAY
BACK AT PVH - Angie tells Ryan that anytime you fool with the brain…and he says he understands that part. Angie cuts off his next sentence and tells him she’s going to get these new tests to the labe and call him with the results. She tells him that she knows he is looking for a quick fix, but it’s really best to explore every avenue before considering risky sugery. He says okay and thanks her for seeing him. She tells him she’ll be in touch and leaves. As she exits Jesse runs up behind her and says “Hey, yo, Dr. Hubbard.” She smiles and says oh, hey baby. He asks her if she’s saved any lives today and she tells him she’s doing her best. She knows he’s here for something more than that and asks what’s the surprise visit is for. He says he needed to talk to her about something and it couldn’t wait til the end of her shift. She’s asks if everything is okay and it tells her it’s fine. “Sam Woods offered me a job again,” he says. Angie says that is great and asks doing what? RUT RHO…”Taking over for Derek Frye as Chief of Police,” he says. “WOW, that’s flattering,” Angie tells him. He says yeah he knows it is and then she drops it…”How did he take it when you turned him down?” well now y’all knew that was coming didn’t ya? LOL He smiles and laughs as the scene ends.
Jake talks to Ryan and apologizes for what happened earlier and that it’s been awhile since he’s had to deal with hospital politics. Ryan asks him if he really thinks the treatment could work. And Jake tells him it’s a long shot but one that he thinks is worth taking. Ryan asks him about the risks and he says he thinks that Angie is being conservative (oh no he didn’t) and says there are always risks with surgery. Ryan says “No risk, no reward, right?” and Jake asks if he’s interested in it and the scene ends.
