Thursday’s Episode (5/15/2008)
Greetings AnJ Lovers!
Today’s episode recap will begin when our storyline starts and will be updated LIVE throughout the hour.
HERE WE GO…TAD’S OFFICE - Aidan shows up to see how things are going. Tad tells him how grateful he is for saving Jake’s life. Aidan asks about Tad’s latest case and he tells her it’s about finding Kate, his daughter.
AT THE CONDO - Jesse and Cass have a heart to heart. Below is their dialogue.
Jesse: Cassandra, no matter what you might think about me, we have something very much in common.
Cassandra: My mom?
Jesse: Bingo. I know her happiness means as much to you as it does to me.
Cassandra: Ok, you’ve got my attention, so where are you going with this?
Jesse: Now, look. We both love your mother, right? And we both know she wants us all to ba family. Granted, we are getting off to a bit of a late start, which makes for a pretty awkward situation for all of us, especially you.
Cassandra: You think?
Jesse: I got to tell you, it’s a little weird for me, too. I mean, 20 years out there on my own and all of a sudden, bam, I’m a father and a husband again. It’s going to take some time getting used to. Trust me, if you’re going to have problems, these are the kind of problems you want to have.
Cassandra: Yeah, I know that. And you’ve bn nothing but nice to me, jesse. You’ve given me space to reconnect to my mom, to frankie. It’s not that I think you’re a bad guy, it’s just —
Jesse: It’s just I’m not your father.
Camera pans over to Robert…
Robert: Pretty little Cassandra had the elephant the whole time. That diamond must be in that toy because even after 20 long, dusty years, an elephant never forgets.
We see him open up a little black box and there is a needle and vial.
Robert: Elephant gun, time to go hunting.
END SCENE
AT CHANDLER MANSION - We see little A and the elephant is among his things. sLiza, jr. comes in and notices the elephant. She asks JR where he got it and he says Lil A has a habit of bringing things home. She says it belongs to her friend Cass and will take it to her later today. Adam enters the room and ends up seeing Dixie. “My God,” he says and JR asks if he’s okay. End scene.
PLEASE HANG IN THERE - TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES ARE BEING WORKED OUT AND I’M TRYING TO GET CAUGHT UP…TY
BACK AT CONDO - Jesse and Cass continue their chat. Dialogue below:
Jesse: I would never presume to take your father’s place, all right? The one you got is pretty damn cool from what I hear.
Cassandra: He’s the best.
Jesse: Spoken like a true, loyal daughter. Now, why would I get in the way of that? I would like us to become friends.
Cassandra: Friends?
Jesse: Yeah, friends. I mean, we’re so busy bobbing and weaving we’re missing the opportunity to really get to know each other. And we owe it to your mother to at least give it a try.
Cassandra: Ok, I’d be willing to give it a shot.
Jesse: And while we’re at it, could we sort of lose the over-the-top polite stuff? It’s exhausting. Ah, she smiles. See, there’s a start.
Cassandra: Ok, truce. But you got to try and understand my position.
Jesse: I want to, I will.
Cassandra: You talk about coming back to Pine Valley after 20 years, everything’s new. But it’s really strange here for me, too. Pine Valley is a world away from Paris. I’m 18. It was just me and my dad over there. And suddenly, I’ve got all these people checking up on me, want to know where I’m going.
Jesse: Come on, baby, that’s family. It’s what we do. We care for each other. We look out for each other.
Cassandra: Yeah, it’s complicated for me. I don’t know if you could understand.
Jesse: Try me we’ve got all the time in the world.
End scene.
BACK AT TAD’S OFFICE - Tad fills Aidan in on where they are in the search for Kate so far. Aidan offers to help with anything he needs. Tad says thanks and tells him he can’t explain it, but he knows Dixie has something to do with this - finding Kate and he knows he’s close. End scene.
BACK AT CHANDLER MANSION - JR questions Adam’s sanity again. “Dad, is there something seriously wrong with you?” he says. Adam tells him there is nothing wrong and he was supposed to make a phone call and time got away from him. JR tells him that the call can wait and asks him where he found the giraffe. “Ive never seen that before,” Adam said. “That’s bull and you know it. I was just telling little a about this exact same giraffe that my mom gave to me. And then, boom, it just appears. Just like that photo of my mom shows up out of the blue. What are you trying to pull?”, JR asks. We see and hear Dixie tell Adam to tell JR that it was her who put it there - taunting him. Adam tells her to shut up and JR thinks he’s talking to him. “That’s the best you can do? You tell me to shut up. I stepped into Chandler Enterprises for you when you needed me. I’ve been nothing but understanding while you’ve been trying to get a grip. Well, for the last time, you leave my mother out of this. She’s off limits!” he says. Adam swears to JR that he didn’t do any of this and tells him that Dixie is haunting him. A shocked and confused JR looks on as scene ends.
BACK AT THE CONDO - Jesse and Cass keep on talking…dialogue below.
Cassandra: It’s like where do i fit in? You know, I look at you and mom, even Frankie. You guys have all these friends here that know you and have loved you for years. There’s a history there that I’m not a part of.
Jesse: Baby, history takes time.
Cassandra: I know. But it doesn’t make me feel any better. And it’s not that I’m jealous or anything.
Jesse: I know that, I know that.
Cassandra: It’s just, when i look at you guys, it’s like I’m looking through a window and you guys are on the other side smiling at me, calling me to come in, but I don’t have the key to open the door.
Jesse: Enter the poet. So, you’re the big outsider always looking in?
Cassandra: That’s right.
Jesse: Wow, well, Cassandra, we’ve got a lot more in common than we thought.
Camera pans over to slimeball Robert and he says “I’m an outsider looking in on both of you.” End scene.
BACK AT CHANDLER MANSION - “My mother’s haunting you? Now I know you have really lost it”, JR says to Adam. Adam swears Dixie came to him. JR decides to play along and asks him what did she have to say to him. Adam says she told him to repent for all his sins. Dixie then chimes in with that’s not all she told him. “You can never tell the whole truth, can you?” Dixie says. JR asks if him this was in a dream and Adam says no. JR tells him he’s pathetic using his dead mother as a way to justify his crazy behavior. Dixie taunts Adam asking if he’s jealous because their son is smart, handsome and young. Once again Adam has an out burst and tells her to shut up. JR tells Lil A that he should go to the kitchen and get Aunt Colby but for him to stay there with Lucretia. “You are the one who should be quiet, Adam, because this is it. The final countdown to where it’s all going to be decided,” Dixie says. “What is going to be decided? I want answers. Tell me I need to know. I demand to know! Adam screams. “You’re in no position to demand anything,” Dixie snaps back. “Damn you, Dixie, damn you back to hell” Adam yells. And that’s enough for JR as he tells Adam this ends now. Scene ends.
AFTER COMMERCIALS - MORE AT CHANDLER MANSION - Dialogue below
Adam: J.R., Your mother wants to send me to hell.
J.R.: That is enough, you lunatic.
Colby: J.R., What’s wrong? What’s going on?
J.R.: I will not let you drag my mother’s memory down. What kind of sick, perverted game are you playing? What are you trying to accomplish with this?
Adam: No, it’s not a game. It’s not a game. She’s right here. Your mother’s came — came back from the dead to torture me. She’s right here. Dixie, show yourself.
Colby: Daddy, stop it. This isn’t funny.
J.R.: All right, all right, you know what? Let’s all just stay calm, ok? Dad, just calm down.
Dixie: [Laughing]
Adam: Calm, calm? I hear laughter from hell. Stop it! I can’t take anymore. Stop, stop!
J.R.: All right, dad. Why don’t I take you upstairs to your room? You can lay down and relax.
Adam: No, no, no, there’s no running away from her. There’s no escaping her, no. Just stop, stop it, stop it!
J.R.: Colby, I want you to call this guy, ok? Here is his number. Tell him to get over here, asap.
Colby: Who is it?
J.R.: Don’t ask questions. Just make the phone call.
Adam: J.R., You have no idea what I’ve been going through. She’s here torturing me everywhere, everywhere I go. She got herself into the jet plane, the private jet. 20,000 feet in the air, she’s still mocking me.
J.R.: So, you’re saying that mom’s a ghost?
Adam: Yes, yes, I’m saying she’s a ghost. Yes, she’s a ghost. She’s right here and she’s making my life miserable.
J.R.: Ok, so you’re saying that mom’s a ghost and you can see her. But, dad, I can’t see her, ok? So why don’t you show me where she is? Tell me.
Dixie: Proceed with caution, Adam. You’re playing with fire now. Don’t want to get burned.
END SCENE
BACK AT CONDO - Jesse & Cass…
Jesse: You know, I’ve also looked through that window you’re talking about.
Cassandra: How so?
Jesse: You kidding me? Out there all that time by myself, I couldn’t help but feel like an outsider. I mean, I wanted my family back really bad, and all I could do was watch. Don’t touch. Never touch. I had to protect my family by staying away.
Cassandra: It had to be really hard for you.
Jesse: Yeah, it was rough. But my point is, you are standing on the other side of the window that I’m looking through. You know parts of this family better than I do. I mean, what was Frankie like as a big brother?
Cassandra: We were really close.
Jesse: Yeah?
Cassandra: I guess I was always looking up to him, trying to prove myself to him.
Jesse: See, this helps me already. I mean, he was so young when i was taken away. Was he always accident-prone?
Cassandra: Oh, yeah.
Jesse: He is just so clumsy.
Cassandra: Ok, this one time, he got his first pair of rollerblades. He insisted on taking on this hill. He couldn’t even stand on them, but he had to be big brother show off.
Jesse: I’m almost afraid to ask. What happened?
Cassandra: Well, let’s just say it was a good thing he had dental insurance.
Jesse: That’s our boy Frankie.
Cassandra: Mom was always like setting a bone or stitching that boy up.
Jesse: Probably why he went into medicine, right?
Cassandra: Luckily, he was just more embarrassed than hurt.
Jesse: It’s a guy thing.
Cassandra: Yeah. You’re cool, you know?
Jesse: I know.
Cassandra: Thank you for the summit.
Jesse: Anytime. Did you ever find what you were looking for earlier? You know, I got an extra set of eyes here. And I am a highly trained professional.
END SCENE
BACK AT TAD’S OFFICE - Aidan suggest Tad contact the newspaper where the articles came from for more information that was never published. Tad tells him that was a brilliant idea and he’s already following up on it. He asks about the reporter - Madeline Wilson and there’s no update on her yet.
BACK AT CHANDLER MANSION - Adam continues his rant about being haunted by Dixie and calls her a bitch. JR tells him not to talk about his mother like that and of course Dixie takes advantage of the situation and asks Adam is he thought JR would ever defend him like that. To which Adam replies “Why don’t you go back to purgatory where you came from? I want that witch out of my house. I want her out of my house. Get out! Leave!” End scene.
BACK AT THE CONDO - Jesse and Cass finish up their chat.
Cassandra: I really wasn’t looking for anything important. I just felt like my stuff has been kind of messed up lately.
Jesse: Messed up?
Cassandra: More like, messed with. Like my things have been rummaged through.
Jesse: Anything of value missing?
Cassandra: Nothing critical. In fact, for about a minute i thought it might have been you going through my things. I mean, it made sense. You were a cop. I’m a teenager who’s lived abroad.
Jesse: And you thought that i was making sure you hadn’t packed illegal substances with your what? Your souvenirs?
Cassandra: Something like that.
Jesse: Oh, my god. Yeah, not my style. Prefer the direct approach.
Cassandra: I’ll keep that in mind.
Jesse: You do that. So, you’re sure there was nothing missing at all. Nothing suspicious left around?
Cassandra: You know, it’s probably just me getting used to the new time zone. And I do have a habit of losing things. I mean, just ask Frankie. You’ll see once you get to know me better.
Jesse: That’s what I’m talking about. Getting to know each other.
Cassandra: Right. Yeah, you’re right. You know, just for the record, I know my mom pretty well, but when I hear her humming to herself, and I see a smile that I’ve never seen before, I know it’s because of you, jesse. I can’t thank you enough.
BACK AT TAD’S OFFICE - Tad finds info about Madeline online:
“The New Mexico state police have completed a cursory investigation of the accident site. It appears Miss Wilson’s car was forced off the road as it approached the shoulder. The other vehicle fled the scene. There are no further leads on the mystery vehicle involved in this tragic hit-and-run. Witnesses are encouraged to step forward.”
Aidan and Tad are thinking the same thing - that Miss Wilson was onto something that someone didn’t want her to follow up on. End scene.
FINAL SCENES TODAY…
BACK AT CHANDLER MANSION - The men in white coats arrive at the mansion and drag Adam off much to Dixie’s delight and many of us others I suspect. And all the way out he’s screaming to let him go.
BACK AT TAD’S OFFICE - Tad and Aidan figure out that Greg Madden killed Miss Wilson to stop her from any more articles on the illegal adoptions she had been working on. Tad’s very disaapointed that his best trail to Kate is now gone. End scene.
BACK AT THE CONDO - Jesse tells Cass that it was really nice, what she said about him and her mom. Cass tells him she meant it and Jesse tells her he meant what he said as well. He asks her to do him a favor and to keep him posted if she senses anything unusual. She says ok. He tells her he was glad they had this chat and he’s out. He leaves and before she can even get out of the kitchen, there’s a knock at the door. She thinks Jesse has forgotten something but that smile quickly turns to a frown as she sees Robert at the door. He asks if he came at a bad time and she says yes, that her mom and Jesse are not home right now and he says that’s all right because he came to see her. And chills run up our spines as scene ends.
