I’ve started a new category on the blog called HOLLA - it’s gonna be a place I put special items for y’all to see that were created by our members. Our first item of interest has been submitted to You Tube by our very own JHGRL - her very first mvid and it’s a great one!
I have to admit I was kind of jealous because she beat me to the punch LOL…I started working on my first mvid of A&J on Sunday, but it’s taking more time than I thought so I’m very PLEASED that JHGRL made this one for us all to enjoy! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

oh and I totally agree Darnell and Angie always had and still has some serious chemistry… if i’m her man, i’m thinking DAMN either these two can really ACT or there is definitely something there…

Hello to everyone. I have been into AMC since it came on the air in 1970; in B/W and only 30 mins. I might add. It is so great to see other floks that love AnJ too!. AMC did a great thing bringing them back, and the actor playing Frankie. Are we all sure he is not Darnell’s real son?????. Those lips, those lips, and did I mention THOSE LIPS!

What a GREAT “Mini Movie”!!
I read somewhere that he may have been married in the past. If you search his name and go thru the sites…you’ll find it. He and Debbi did an interview for Essence magazine when they returned. I found out about it in the search. He said there too that he’s single.
I need to try and get some of his movies to watch.
Can never get enuf of him!!

Stomping at the Savoy was a good movie that DW starred in. I will have to rent it soon, because it’s been a long time since I’ve seen that movie. So, long that I’ve forgotten the s/l. There were a lot of stars in the movie…in fact, MVP (mayb that’s why their convo 2day was so natural) was one…also Lynn Whitfield, Jasmine Guy, Vanessa Williams, Vanessa Bell Calloway and a few more stars.
I not too long ago saw “Strays” with DW, Vin Diesel and Mike Epps. Our man played a gay guy. It was alright.

I am going to have to check DW out in those couple of movies as well. I dont think I could bare to watch Strays it would ruin the appeal for me (just cant do it) I did read where he was married to a lady named Jackie Lowe at some point and apprently she is/was an actress but I cant find her in anything when I searched.?

BTW - I saw “Strays”. It took me 2 days to get up the nerve to finish it after I realized what character he was portraying. But if you can, try and remove your current emotional attachment to the man himself and get through it. He actually has the best line in the movie.

I refuse to watch him in Strays if he plays a gay role. I have a tendency of keeping that impression from that point on…I wouldn’t want to see him in any other way.
Now I’m thinkin’ crazy thoughts…why isn’t he married…it’s rare now adays for a man not to have any kids…see…I’m all messed up in the head now!

So I would assume that maybe he’s so caught up in his work which he seems to do a lot of or maybe he is waiting on Ms Debbi, Or maybe his girlfriends cant take the heat of him being so close to her. Dlyne, Alicia is right. Calm down. He was only in 3 scenes and the worst he did was touch a guys hand.
As for the no kids thing - he was the middle child in a family of 8 kids. Maybe he felt he couldn’t be the father he would have liked AND be the actor he wanted to be, so he chose acting. We should commend him for not wanting to shortchange kids in favor of having a career. Besides he gave an interview in which he said he was selfish with love. Maybe he was less selfish than he thought.

Dlyne, I have a friend that will be 40 in a couple of years and he has never been married or have any kids. He’s not gay at all, but very much wrapped up in his career.

jav - the quote was from an interview with soap opera digest. It was from the 80s. I took it to mean that he would want somebody who could support his dreams. And he was a military brat so he knew what being moved around all the time could do to a kid. Maybe he didn’t want to do that to a child. I don’t think his not having kids indicates anything except him being a responsible man. Bravo!

jav - I’m going to paraphrase. I don’t want to mangle Vin Diesel’s script LOL. It was where he told Heather that sometimes life pushes you down, and sometimes all you need is that one person to believe in you and support you. It can make all the difference. Then he told her she should fight for him if she really loved him.

oK, since I’m a CW fan…when I thought of Jesse being away all those years trying to protect his family, the song that came to mind was “not a perfect man” Here are some of the lyrics, just in case you all don’t remember:

It talks about how the woman came along and change his life. How she brought out the man in him that he never knew.
That reminded me when J told Samuels yesterday how Angie changed him and his life. How she believed in him. PERFECT SONG! Alicia, I don’t have a clue on how to do a MVID either, but that’s the song I would chose to do one if I knew how. LOL!!! I know the perfect clip would be that great emotional scene they did when Angie’s father fell to his death. J said he was only trying to protect her. OMG…THAT WAS THE BEST ACTING! Have ya’ll seen that yet, on Utube??? They both should’ve won an Emmy for that scene that year.
But you are right, there are a lot of songs that would be great for J&A.

Jav - I have seen the clip you’re talking about. Ms Debbi was incredible when she said “You killed my father!” and started beating on his chest. And Darnell stood there and never flinched or pushed her away. It was amazing. They both got robbed that year at Emmy time.

Both of them were incredible with that scene…I’m telling ya’ll they had to have pulled that emotion from something that happen FOR REAL between them. Even Darnell, when he said “I was trying to protect you, the shock would have been too much. I never wanted you hurt ~tears streaming~ I love you, I just didn’t want you hurt”.
Ok, now after that I need a fix…going to find it and watch it for the 100th time on UTube…BRB! LOL

LOL! Every time I watch that scene I feel so bad for him. I know she is the one who lost her father, but he looks like the pain of seeing her hurt like that might do him in. He loved her so much you could see it oozing out his ears. Acting? Maybe - maybe not. But if it was only for show, I SAY DAMN!!!

Yea, jh…I’m sticking to my belief that the phenomonal acting for that scene was something that was real that came from a situation they were going through or had been through and the emotion from whatever it was, was still very fresh in their minds and hearts. You get what I’m saying?
