Angie and Jesse

Since it’s a topic of discussion here’s what I recall and have dug up on Angies’ dad Les Baxter. Feel free to comment with more info!

Back in the day…Jesse and Angie crossed the state line to get married and quickly regretted their decision so they kept it a secret. Angie’s dad didn’t accept Jesse on any level and as such Jesse was never going to be good enough for his daughter. When Angie found herself pregnant, she believed Jesse didn’t want kids so she went to Haiti for a quickie divorce.

Jesse did find out about the baby and went to the hospital to be with Angie, but he was too late — Angie had given the child up for adoption. Together Angie & Jesse found and kidnapped baby Frankie and were married by a justice of the peace in Center City where they stayed.

Jessie had a singing partner named Yvonne Caldwell and she lied about having Jesse’s baby. She finally admitted that to Angie and decided to sell her child to a black market baby ring. Jesse was a cop at this time and went undercover to find out who the leader of the ring was and was shocked to find out it was none other than Les Baxter. Jesse setup a meeting with Les and there was a struggle and Les fell to his death down a stairwell. Angie was not pleased about Jesse keeping this all from her and as as result she left him.

Almost time…. OH YES - we open with Jesse and Angie as they have a heartfelt talk about it being over and having to go see Derek to tie up loose ends. Cut over to Chandler mansion where Opal is telling Tad never to do that again, scare her like that with all the drama, etc.

ICK ALERT - Robert shows up and says he’s sorry to intrude and Adam quickly cuts in and tells him he’s honored to have him in his home. They show Tad off to the side with a grimmace on his face (we’re with you Tad, Robert is EVIL).

Cut to intro muzak…

Back at Chandler mansion Robert has told them all he’s not retired. Adam gives him compliments (gag) and tells him he’s a genuine hero and then shock of all shocks, Krystal agrees he’s welcome anytime. Opal chimes in (no suprirse all she sees is a man). Tad asks him what’s next and Robert says he thinks he’s going to stay around PV.

Over at Tad’s house, Angie and Jesse are talking about it being 20 years, how Frankie is a grown man and now Jesse has the chance to know him again. Angie tells him he’s been given a gift and Jesse’s worried it will be taking away again. You can tell he’s still fearful it’s not over and Angie tries to soothe him telling him that Papel’s dead and Robert killed him. I’ll do a vidcap on some of this scene for you today. Angie tells him this is THEIR CHANCE AT HAPPINESS and THEY ARE GONNA TAKE IT - yeah, it’s a good scene… they look so very happy as they leave to see Derek! End scene.

Next scene is at Chandler mansion everyone still cooing over Robert. Opal pulls Tad aside to remind him that Robert is NOT RAY and Tad is still very resistent to it all but gives Opal a half-smile like he’ll try but you can see he’s so not buying Robert as a good guy just yet.

Colby comes home and sees everyone moving out and is sad. Tad tells her he’s proud of her and trudges back upstairs to get more of Jenny’s things - he calls her a diva and tells her her sherpa is coming LOL. He’s such a good daddy!

Jesse and Angie arrive at the station and they see the wall of fallen cops. Jesse sees his photo and name and reads it aloud. Just then Derek comes over and says he thinks it’s time they took down the photo of Jesse.

Commercials….VIDCAP FOR YA…IT’S BELOW - from the scene at the beginning of today’s storyline.

Over at Chandler mansion Frankie stops by and Adam thanks him for getting Colby out alive last night. (I guess this is where they begin the “romance story” of C&F (ick)). Frankie and Colby share some sentimental words and he brought her a pair of shoes to replace the ones she broke while they were trying to get free. JR notices Frankie’s interest, which Babe thinks is cute but he’s not so sure so look for some fireworks there potentially. Frankie apologizes to her about calling her a spoiled child, yada yada.

Back over at PV police station, Derek is telling Jesse and Angie now that they know what’s what, they were finally able to link Rafael to this extensive east coast drug operation. Angie says hey owe Robert Gardner for ending this. Jesse asks if his investigation is completely closed and Derek tells him there are a few loose ends, but basically yes. I’ll do a bit of vidcap for this and tie in my little “tissue scene” for you soon!!!

BIG RUT RHO - Adam offers Robert a job EEK GADS! Robert sucks up to him and we all know how much Adam hates that NOT! So look for Adam to give Robert probably more info than we’ll ever want him to have at his disposal. Geeze these people are DUMB (Adam, Opal)!

VIDCAP BELOW…I’ve edited down today’s episode to just the police station scene with Angie & Jesse - TISSUE ALERT - JUST GET EM READY! I keep wanting to just rewind and watch this again and again. Warms ya up Love them!!!

Other things that happened during this timeframe - JR came out to the foyer where Frankie and Colby were to thank him for saving Colby. He got really woozy and Frankie asked him if he was okay and told him he better get to a doctor because he looked like crap.

THEN WE SEE smarmy Robert on the phone (we don’t know who with) and he says “Don’t worry, everything’s going just according to plan. These people think I’m a hero. How long? Well, just as long as it takes Jesse Hubbard to give me what I want.”

SPOTLIGHT DIALOGUE OF THE DAY:

This is where Robert shows up at Chandler mansion today….

Adam: Well, if there’s anything I can do to help, don’t hesitate to ask.
Robert: Oh, my. First, I get the pleasure of meeting you, and now you’re offering to help me out. [Adam chuckles]
Adam: Nonsense. I am indebted to you for what you did for Colby.
Robert: Oh, it was an honor, believe me — not every day you get a chance to save the life of the daughter of the legendary Adam Chandler. [Adam chuckles]
Tad: “Legendary”?
Krystal: Huh, huh. That’s what he said.
Tad: Well, only Adam Chandler would fall for that line of B.S.
Krystal: Uh-huh. Well, he’s grateful. We all are.
Tad: Yep. Robert Gardner — the great american hero.
Opal: Tad? I know, honey, how hard this is for you, I really do — having a reminder of Ray Gardner sneaking up on you after all these years, bringing back memories of all the horrible things he did to you.
Tad: To all of us, mom.
Opal: That’s right — to all of us. But, you know, Robert is not Ray.
Tad: Yeah, I know that.
Opal: Do you?
Tad: Mama, I spent my entire life trying to get rid of memories of what Ray Gardner did to us. It does not make it that much easier for me to have that S.O.B. In there looking —
Opal: I know —
Tad: Just like him.
Opal: And bringing it all back. I understand. It did the same thing to me. But do you think you could do your mother a little favor?
Tad: Ah, do you really have to play the mother card right now?
Opal: Any chance I get. [Tad sighs]
Tad: What is it?
Opal: Just try to have an open mind. Ok?
Tad: Ok.
