This is an offtopic posting for this blog, but I I thought one worth sharing. I try to watch The View on a daily basis and really enjoy the panel conversations. Mostly the hot topics are of interest to me. Today’s episode featured clips Barbara was showing from her upcoming Oscar’s show.
This clip is of Vanessa Williams and the censors bleeped/silenced her use of the word “N’ word - I hate that phrase…it’s so juvenile! The panel then has a discussion about this which was quite interesting.
No time to write today so far b/c this ep is jammed full of A&J storyline!! FINALLY! Seriously it’s like almost all us so far…of course that may be all of it, but ty for it at the beginning!
4:00 PM - UPDATE
No recap to share, but here’s the first few minutes of AMC today and as you can see - it’s really all about our supercouple!!!
Here’s a few screen pics from my tv today until I can get to a recap…
RECAP STARTING…
You’ve already got the first part of today’s episode in video format above so all continue with my recap from there…there is one piece from the intro that need to be covered first.
The storyline today does intertwine Greenlee and Kendall which also brings along Zach and Aidan. Both Greenlee and Kendall, as you will recall at the end of yesterday episode were called to come into the police station. After the opening Jesse/Angie scenes, we are shown the police station where the four of them are listening to Derek. He tells them that they found a skeleton in the bomb shelter and that is somebody that they knew.
After the intro credits, we’re brought back to the Jesse and Frankie seen in the cabin. Jesse tells Frankie that he never chose to leave his family. Frankie is in disbelief over him being alive, recounting how his mother was there when he died. Jesse tells him that it wasn’t real. It was all staged by the men who took him away. He continues to tell Frankie just a little bit of the same story he told Angie yesterday. He doesn’t want to worry him but Frankie tells him he needs to know what these people did to him. So Jesse fills him in and tells of the only reason he broke cover now was because of Frankie’s condition. Jesse has to make sure he told Frankie he loved him one last time, in case he didn’t pull through. They continue their heart to heart — Frankie talks about being five years old trying to understand death and listening to his mother crying herself to sleep at night. Jesse apologizes to him again and says he never meant for that to happen. He tells him that the only reason he stayed away was to keep him and his mother safe.
Cut outside the cabin where Tad, Krystal and Angie are talking. Angie is pacing back and forth at a pretty good clip and Tad tells her that if she doesn’t take it easy she’s going to dig herself a trench. She tells him she’s worried about Frankie. Tad asks how she’s doing with all this. She says she feels like she just woke up from a horrible nightmare…Jesse and Frankie in the same room after all these years. Krystal chimes in and says she thinks it does a heart good! Angie tells her that if it wasn’t for her suggesting that she take the train the other day…and Krystal says she’s just glad that Angie has her family back. Tad apologizes for not telling her the Jesse was alive. And as usual our Angie is gracious and accepts his apology saying that she knows that Jesse was trying to protect us. BUT she thinks that Jesse isn’t telling her the full story. She thinks that whatever Jesse is hiding has something to do with her.
Back over to police station … Greenlee is looking at a photo of the body in the shelter. Apparently his name was John Remington, nicknamed “Remy”. Derek said he knew of him and that he had dated Angie after Jesse was killed of the line of duty. Derek says Jesse was a good cop and that’s how he died, he took a bullet for Remy. Greens asked how John Remington disappeared and Derek told says that is the mystery. Everybody thought that Remy left town.
Switch to Babe and JR scene…Back to the cabin were Jesse and Frankie are continuing their talk. Frankie wants to know more details but Jesse says they can talk about that later. Right now he wants to hear about Frankie. Frankie tells them that he did an internship at the hospital in PV. Jesse says with Dr. Jake but he left the program, showing Frankie that he was keeping track of what was going on his life. Frankie says he enlisted in that and you didn’t want him to go and it was a tough time for them. They talk about how Angie is a protective momma lion and just a stubborn — both have a good laugh over that. Frankie says he doesn’t know what he wants to do at this life and he’s just been kind of drifting since he came back to PV. He tells Jesse that he wishes that he would have been around so he could tell him what he should be doing with his life. Jesse tells him, even if he would have been there, he couldn’t have told him what to do with his life. Here some dialogue:
Jesse: We make our decisions and then we got to live by them Frankie
Frankie: Is that what you did when you decided to stay away?
Jesse: Yeah, I live by it, but I hated every minute of it. So many times, I thought about coming back home to my family, but I couldn’t. These men, if they knew that I was still alive, they would come for you and your mother, so I made the decision to protect you and live my life on the run.
Jesse: and I would do it over and over again in a heartbeat. Keeping you and your mother safe — – it’s all worth it. You get is mad at me is you want, and you have every right to, but being here with you right now, seeing that you are all grown up and alive. Frankie, I love you more than my life.
Switch over to a scene with JR and Babe. And then back over to the police station where Greenlee is asking Derek if they know how Remy gotten into that hole. Derek said it looks like he was shot at close range and them buried next to the bomb shelter. Zack suggested it sounded like a mob-style execution and Derek said that was their best guess. And thanks to him and Greenlee they were starting a full-scale murder investigation. Commercial break.
Outside the cabin… Krystal is telling tad that the kind of love that Angi and Jesse have, it doesn’t happen to everybody. Ted says he guesses and she says you know — you had that kind of love with Dixie. Tad says there are all kinds of love sweetheart. She agrees but says the kind of love Jesse and Angie have is the kind they write about in movies…it’s just so romantic. Tad tells her they’ve also had their tragedies as well. Krystal agrees but believes they are on their way to a happy ending and Tad tells her just like you and me. LOL
Back at the police station… Greens and Kendall are talking about Remy, thinking he must’ve been involved in some really bad stuff. And they talk about spike in the pregnancy scare etc. Switch over to a scene with JR and then back to our supercouple and Frankie. Frankie tells his Jesse he needs to tell Angie everything, that she’s strong and can handle it. Jesse says he’ll tell her as much as he can, BUT the men that wanted him were dangerous and still are. Frankie tells Jesse he never forgot about him and he always missed him - they hug. Cut to commercial break.
After Jesse and Frankie hug, Jesse tells Frankie that he’s not staying, he needs to leave for his an Angie’s safety. Frankie says he won’t just let Jesse disappear again, he’s not a little boy anymore. He will help fight with his dad. And on cue Tad, Krystal and Angie come through the cabin door. Tad says he and a lot of other people will stand beside Jesse and they can all work together to keep him and the family safe. Jesse still wants to leave and Angie says he’s been on the run for 20 years and he will stop running now. Commercial break.
Okay, rest your eyes a bit from my meaty recap. Sit back and watch the last few minutes of our supercouple on today’s episode:
Oh yeah!! It’s Angie & Jesse day! We start the episode off with Tad and Krystal. Tad’s asking her what he did with the files that he was looking at last night. She asks him if he means the files on Jesse’s case and tells him they are upstairs. Tad says he’s already looked up there. “Tad, I thought he told you to leave that alone”, she says. Tad says he’s going to find out exactly what happened because that’s what Jesse would do even if Tad told him not to.
The doorbell rings and it’s Frankie. He tells Kyrstal that his mom never made it to New York and didn’t get on the plane and wants to know if she’s there. She tells him that Angie left yesterday and she took her to the airport. Frankie’s puzzled by this and wants to know what happened to her.
Cut to our super couple (see pic below) and their dialogue below that.
Angie: You remember that tree we planted?
Jesse: Yeah.
Angie: We were going to make a — a swing out of its branches for frankie.
Jesse: I remember. I remember we were going to do a lot of things. I’m so sorry, baby. All those years, i’m just — I just —
Angie: No, it’s — it’s ok, we’re here now. And we found each other again.
Jesse: Yeah, but we’re not safe. We’re not safe here. I’m risking your life being here with you. Angie: You keep saying that.
Jesse: Because it’s the truth.
Angie: Then tell me why, jesse. Please. You owe me that much. You were gone for 20 years. I need to know what happened.
Jesse: I don’t no where to start.
Angie: From the beginning. Where were you? I want you to tell me everything.
Then we are switched to Greens @ Fusion talking about her “personal favorite” story in the news today - “Erica Kane keeping the feds away”. Meanwhile at Zach and Kendall’s place, Spike is getting his cochlear implants turned on today. The audiologist is running late and Kendall does her usual freaking out about it all…what if it they turn on and it doesn’t work…yada yada. Zach tells her to relax and tries to take her mind off it the old-fashioned way. There’s a knock on the door and they cut to the intro for the show.
Screen Shot of Tad & Frankie
Back from commercial, we see Ryan is the one who was knocking on the Zendall’s door. He tells Kendall he just wanted to be there for Spike when they turned the implant on. There are clearly issues between Zach and Ryan. Ryan tells him he’s uncomfortable with being there a bit — still getting used to the fact he has a son. He’s not there to cause any trouble. Ryan tells them that Annie kicked him out last night and they cut to something I so care more about….FRANKIE!!!
Frankie tells Tad that he had the airline page Angie as soon as her flight landed, but nobody answered that page. He says her cell phone has been off for hours and as a doctor she would never do that. Krystal tells Frankie that she sure there’s an explanation. But he won’t hear that…he says NO and he’s calling the cops. Tad lets him know that’s not a good idea and of course Frankie wants to know why. Krystal tells him that before she left the airport, they said Angie’s flight would be delayed and maybe she took a different one. She says that maybe after everything Angie’s been through these past few weeks she just needed some time for herself. Frankie says that Angie would have told him that it and he’s really getting angry now. Tad tells him to calm down and Frankie snaps back “Look, you need to stop telling me what to do!” He apologizes and says he just knows that something’s not right and he can feel it.
Then they cut us over to A&J Jesse’s telling Angie that she doesn’t want to hear all this. Of course she objects and says yes she does! He says he remembers being shot and Angie at the hospital crying and then he blacked out. He doesn’t know for how long. Angie says she was at the hospital when they took his body — his dead body away. Jesse says they needed it to look like he was dead and he was told it was all a setup. Angie asks him who told him this and he says that’s a problem he doesn’t know. Here’s the dialogue:
Jesse: I came to, I was in this dark room. I don’t know how long I was there a day, more — who knows? But when they came in, they told me everything that happened, and said that if I told them what they needed to know, they would let me go. But I guess — I didn’t believe them.
Angie: well, what did these people want?
Jesse: I — – they never said. They acted as if I was holding out on them. That I knew something was important and wasn’t giving it up. That’s when they — –
Angie: oh, God. Oh, God, Jesse.
And just as this gets good we are taken back over to Zendall’s. I could tell you what happens here, the point of this blog is what? ANGIE & JESSE! Just know that the cochlear implants worked and everybody’s thrilled. They send us back to Fusion…Greens answers calls about Ercia’s legal issues…Babe fills Greens in on her and JR’s night of passion…oh finally…
Back at TAD’s…he’s telling Frankie he’s going to make some calls and do some scratching around and see what he can find out. Krystal tells Frankie there’s some left over meatloaf in the kitchen and to go make himself a sandwich while Tad makes his calls. As Frankie leaves the room Krystal asks Tad if he’s thinking what she’s thinking. Tad makes snide remark and Krystal reminds him she told Angie to take the train and maybe she and Jesse got together. Tad’s concern is that the bad guys, whoever they may be, found Angie first.
Cut back over to Angie and Jesse… Jesse tells Angie that “they” threatened her and Frankie and said if Jesse didn’t tell them what they wanted to know they would kill her and Frankie.
Here some dialogue:
Angie: and they still didn’t tell you what they wanted?
Jesse: yeah, that’s when I lost it. I went crazy on all of them. I grabbed this guy, started choking him to death. You know, I’m waking up in this field somewhere — – on the ground lying next to this guy big in a whole. I figure and that’s for me, because my hands are tied behind my back, but they’re not — – it’s not that tight.
Angie: What did you do?
Jesse: I kept working on the knot. But the guy finished digging. He finally comes over to me to finish the job. I don’t how I did it, but I broke free of the ropes, I grabbed him, I was able to somehow turned the gun on him and Barry him in his own grave. They needed to believe that they killed me, Angie. And I needed to make them believe that I was dead. I hung around for a couple of days to make sure they weren’t coming for you and Frankie, and then I took off. I’ve been running for 20 years.
Back over @ TAD’s…Tad tells Krystal that he just spoke with his father and checked in with the hospital that Angie worked at in New York and no one knows anything on that end. Krystal says “You know my theory” to which Tad retorts he does and he would like to believe in her theory but there were other options to consider. Krystal says, let’s say I’m right and if they found each other and they’re still in Pine Valley where would they be? Tad does is typical snide remark routine and Krystal tells him to be serious and he says he seriously doesn’t know. He tells her that Angie and Jesse were huge part of everybody’s life so there’s no way of knowing where they may be. But if she’s right and they are alone — there was one place that they used to hang out together. It was a shack in the middle of the woods, but he didn’t know where. And then Frankie comes in and says maybe he can help them.
Back over to Angie and Jesse…Still talking about what “they” were after. Jesse tells her he never found out. He just knew whatever it was, they were willing to kill him and then go after her and Frankie if he didn’t tell them. She asked him where he went and he says, “Where didn’t I go?” He said he went to Canada first, then Europe and Africa. He didn’t stay in one place too long …
**Side Note: During this convo, Jesse said he worked at a game preserve — I guess this is a clue for future (past) plot development, but I think it’s a bit lame. Most of the stuff he’s telling her about his past, is awkward to me. Darnell seems a bit clumsy to me saying it - like even he doesn’t buy these words. I don’t think this part was written very well but it’s hard to bring a dead guy back and have it makes sense even in soap land.**
Moooving along…Jesse said he didn’t want to take the chance that someone would spot him and figure out that the guy who was in the grave he escaped from wasn’t him.
Here is some dialogue:
Jesse: … I didn’t want to take that chance.
Angie: Because you were afraid for me and Frankie?
Jesse: I’ve always trusted my instincts, Angela. And they tell me these people are still out there. And if they find out I’m alive, they will come for you and Frankie, and I know that. That’s why I can’t stay here.
Cut back over to fusion…Babe on the phone would JR. Skpping through to our next A&J scene.
Back at TAD’s … Frankie asks Tad if he’s heard anything about his mother. Tad says no, but he’s going to keep at it. Frankie tells Tad he is going to go ahead and file a report at the police station. It’s probably too early to do that, Tad says. But Krystal intervenes and encourages Frankie to do what he needs to do and to keep them posted. Tad gets a clue of what Krystal’s trying to do and Frankie thanks them both and leaves. Tad starts looking for a map from 20 years ago hoping that will help him find a shack. And within minutes - voilĂ he finds the map!
Cut to Angie and Jesse…And this is where it gets good kids. Angie asks Jesse where he was going when she saw him and He was going to take the train to Canada, maybe hop a merchant ship work for his passage — he didn’t know where, maybe one of the islands. She asks him what his plan was after that it and he said one thing he learned was to never plan to far ahead. The good part is coming because Dr. Angie Hubbard aka Ms. Debbi Morgan ain’t having none of that!
11:46 PM EST - JUST HAD TIME TO DO MY YOUTUBE….THIS SHOULD BE AN “EMMY” FOR MS. MORGAN
Here’s some “emmy” dialogue:
Angie: Well, that’s going to change. I’m going to have to make some arrangements. There are some accounts I can close up. And, you know, we’ll have to tell Frankie, of course. And then there’s Cassandra. Do — – do you know that I have a daughter?
Jesse: Yeah. Yeah, I know, but — –
Angie: Yeah, well, Cassie, she’s still in Europe with her father. We could let her know where to meet us.
Jesse: Meet us? Meet us where?
Angie: Wherever you’re going, Jesse, I’m going. And don’t even try to stop me.
Jesse: You cannot come with me, Angela.
Angie: Then I guess you’re not going anywhere, either.
Jesse: What — – what about your job, your practice?
Angie: They need doctors everywhere.
Jesse: No, I will not put you through this! Angie: Don’t you get it twisted Jesse? You hear me? I have — I have 20 years mourning you. 20 years of missing the love of my life, thinking he was gone forever. And now, you — you come back into my life, you come back just to tell me goodbye again? You think somebody’s chasing you, Jesse? Well, you are right. Because you are looking at her! And I don’t care where you go. You can go to the tips of some godforsaken place in the middle of nowhere, and I will hunt you down and find you!
Jesse: Smirks and laughs
Angie: What?
Jesse: Angela Baxter, you are too much.
Angie: Well, you just make sure you remember that.
Jesse: Do you even know how much I love you?
Angie: Jesse, you can’t leave me. You can’t leave me ever again.
And the last time we see Jesse & Angie today it goes like this…
Jesse hears something outside the cabin. It turns out to be Tad and Krystal…and FRANKIE who followed them. They try to hide Angie and Jesse from him, but Angie comes out of the cabin. Here’s the dialogue:
Angie: Hi, baby. I’m sorry that i made you worry.
Frankie: Wait — what are you doing here?
Tad: Well, she used to come here a lot. That’s why we’re here. We followed her out.
Krystal: Look, i told you she’d be fine. She just needed some time to think, right, Angie?
Angie: No, no, uh-uh. My son has been living with too many lies already. Baby, I — I need you to be brave. Can you do that?
Frankie: Yeah.
Angie: Jesse? Come on out and see your son.
Jesse: Hello, son.
Can you see deer in the headlights when Frankie see’s Jesse? More like very angry deer!
PREVIEWS FOR FRIDAY
Frankie: I was a little boy when you disappeared. How could you abandon us like that?
Angie: Whatever Jesse’s hiding, I have a feeling it’s about me.
